Week 15: Innsbruck, Neuschwanstein and the First Decent Candids of Kim

Do I even have to say it? I'm a little bit behind but hey that just means that we have more to get caught up on because I've been travelling a lot. At this moment, I'm in Leipzig in a hostel but you'll hear about it soon.

So on week 15 there was absolutely nothing but homework and class...until Wednesday night when I left for Innsbruck. But hey Thursday was a holiday so I had off from class.

Innsbruck was absolutely beautiful. It was very small but I think it was worth seeing. We stayed in a cute little airbnb outside of Innsbruck it was cozy and it had a fire place and a view.

After some nice and much needed relaxing time, we headed into Innsbruck to see the Christmas markets. This was the second week in December so the Christmas markets were in full swing. We were there on and off all day so here are my christmas market pictures in absolutely not chronological order.

Also, some general pictures of Innsbruck that I took!

Here's what I like to call "hahaha Innsbruck you so funny"

and then we climbed to the top of this dome! The climb included a very long spiral staircase in almost complete darkness. I'm clumsy in regular lighting so you can imagine how this went.

The view from up top:

The next day we went to the Neuschwanstein castle. I've been wanting to see this for a really long time!

This is the Hohenschwangau castle which is not the same thing but was very close to it

And, to build up more suspense, the food I ate.

AND THEN. we got to Neuschwanstein.

This was the view on the other side!

Also, a picture of me being a tourist in front of it

We took a tour of the inside but unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures. I did get to take a picture of this window!

My favorite thing about the tour was that King Ludwig II made an indoor cave and walking through it felt like walking through a real cave. also considering that he never had a wife, he didn't even need that cave because his castle was his man cave. Maybe he wanted to vary up his cave types: one cave for bein a man and one for doing cave stuff.

The worst part of the tour was probably that there were screaming children surrounding us. One kept shoving the audio guide device in her mouth. I looked at mine and decided that I would be washing my hands at least 5 times after the tour.

Thanks for making it to the end! Your reward is unflattering pictures. Blog posts don't get a blooper real like videos do but I'm gonna do it anyway.

See you soon!
